HIV/AIDS: Recent advances in antiretroviral agents

Abstract

Despite the considerable progress in antiretroviral therapy, the eradication of HIV-1 remains unfeasible. Therefore, novel agents are under investigation. The aim of this review is to summarize the conventional compounds, to describe the recently approved agents, and to take a comprehensive look at the clinically relevant findings of current research. © 2009 Bentham Science Publishers Ltd.
