An essay is presented on the classical sovereign and biopolitics. It discusses the gradual humanization of the classical sovereign subject and the modality of power reflected in the play "The Madness of George III," by Alan Bennet. The author argues on the Giorgio Agamben's philosophy on the intersection of bio-power and sovereign power in his book"Homo Sacer: Sovereign Power and Bare Life," and Michel Foucault's account on biopolitical subject in discipline and punish.
