dc.description.abstractAxisymmetric fibres support linearly and circularly polarised sech pulses and also elliptically polarised pulses having more complicated profile. Collisions between any two such pulses are studied numerically. Large collision speed causes little radiation, but appreciable pulse ellipticity changes. Smaller relative speed gives imperfect collision for nearly-orthogonal, linearly polarised pulses. Critical parameter ranges yield pulse annihilation, but small ellipticity adjustment restores two emergent pulses. © 1994.en
