The present study, conducted among a large sample of Cypriot year 1 and year 4 university students, in the field of Economics and Management aims to investigate the structure of students’ responses on representation tasks concerning their understanting on exponential and logarithmic functions. Further, it seeks to assess the students’ability in using the latter fluently and flexibly. The results, derived using similarity and implicative diagrams (CHIC), show the way in which the students respond in tasks, using different types of representations related to the concept of function, allowing the creation of a coherent system of the different types of these tasks.
