It is shown that zero beam-squinting can be achieved in both series fed antenna arrays and leaky-wave antennas by employing two parallel-connected metamaterial transmission lines with equal positive group delays, but with opposite phase velocities. The theory of operation is presented that enables the design of an off-broadside leaky-wave antenna with zero beam-squinting over a relative bandwidth. Subsequently, the antenna operation is validated using an array factor analysis. © 2016 IEEE.
