Pentacarbonyl(diphenyltelluroketone)tungsten, (CO)5W(TeCPh2), reacts with 1-diethylaminoprop-1-yne and bis(diethylamino)acetylene, RCCNEt2, by [2 + 2]- cycloaddition and electrocyclic ring-opening to give the new telluroacrylamide complexes (CO)5W[TeC(NEt2)(CRCPh2)] (R = Me (IIIa), NEt2 (IIIb)). On pro-longed heating, in CO/Et2O at 60°C, IIIb fragments to give W(CO)6, Te, and H(NEt2)CC(NEt2)CHPh2. © 1988.
