dc.description.abstractA metallic and a semiconducting member of the solid solution LaNixCo1-xO3 (x=0.2, 0.6) with their magnetic and magnetotransport properties was investigated. The members of the perovskite solid solution were found on opposite sides of the chemically induced metal-to-insulator transition. The similarities between the magnetic properties of the two compounds were described. The origin of the magnetoresistance in the members of the solid solution was also discussed.en
