The European Financial Market in Transition’

Abstract

This book is an edited volume on recent developments in the European financial market. After the recent financial crisis, the EU financial market seems to be in a state of transition, as revealed by the need for various structural and substantive reforms. The aim of this book is to describe the important changes and developments that have emerged in the European financial market, in recent years. The contributions of this book focus on three areas, each of which addresses a different fundamental aspect of European financial market law: takeovers, shareholder democracy and the reshaping of the framework for the European financial market. The book is divided into three parts according to these three areas. In Part I on takeovers, there are four contributions

in Part II on shareholder democracy, there are seven contributions

and in Part III on the framework for the European financial market, there are six contributions. At the end of the book, there is an extensive bibliography (almost 30 pages), which is very useful for anyone interested in further research.
