This volume is dedicated to Prof. Dr Athanassios Kaissisto celebrate his 65th birthday. The volume was edited by two prominent German academics: Prof. Dr Reinhold Geimer and Prof. Dr Rolf A. Schütze. This great honour has never before been attributed to a Greek legal scholar.This definitely reveals its significance for the Greek legal academic community. Prof. Dr Athanassios Kaissis is Professor of Civil Procedure at the Department of Law, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, member of the governing board of the International Hellenic University and Corresponding Fellow of the Institute for Foreign and International Private and Economic Law of the University of Heidelberg (the latter title was last awarded prior to World War II). This edited volume contains 70 contributions, written primarily in German language. There are also contributions written in English and in French. Moreover, the diversity of the contributors’ backgrounds is impressive. The authors are law professors and academics, distinguished practitioners, judges and legal officers of national and international organizations and agencies
