A high resolution adsorption (HRADS) technique was used in both the continuous and static modes to determine the isotherms of nitrogen (at 77K) on various porous carbons and silicas. Excellent agreement has been obtained with the corresponding adsorption data determined with a conventional volumetric technique. The advantages and limitations of HRADS measurements are discussed and the isotherms are analysed by the αs-method. The results provide new evidence for the three stages of pore filling. © 1993, Kodansha Ltd.en
