Samiha (Sāmiḥa) Ayverdi was a Turkish novelist, essayist, autobiographical writer, and literary scholar. In contrast to the laicist and populist outlook of the early Republican period, her works demonstrate a religious (Islamic mysticist) and conservative-elitist attitude towards Turkey and its history.
