Το Tμήμα Διοίκησης Eπιχειρήσεων και Δημόσιας Διοίκησης (ΔΕΔ) στοχεύει στην άρτια εκπαίδευση διοικητικών στελεχών που θα υπηρετήσουν επάξια σε ιδιωτικές επιχειρήσεις και σε δημόσιους οργανισμούς. Βασικός αντικειμενικό σκοπός του Τμήματος Διοίκησης Eπιχειρήσεων και Δημόσιας Διοίκησης είναι: «Να πρωτοστατήσει σε διάφορους τομείς της Δημόσιας Διοίκησης και Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων, τόσο στην Κύπρο όσο και στην ευρύτερη περιοχή, και να πετύχει διεθνή αναγνώριση ως αξιόλογο ερευνητικό κέντρο σε θέματα που εμπίπτουν σε καθένα από αυτούς τους τομείς.» Ο σκοπός αυτός μπορεί να επιτευχθεί με συστηματική προσπάθεια προς τρεις κατευθύνσεις: (α) την άρτια επιστημονική εκπαίδευση και κατάρτιση μελλοντικών διοικητικών στελεχών - εκπαιδευτική αποστολή (β) την εκπόνηση ερευνητικών προγραμμάτων με διεθνή αναγνώριση - ερευνητική αποστολή (γ) την προαγωγή της γνώσης στο ευρύτερο κοινωνικό σύνολο με την διοργάνωση επιμορφωτικών και άλλων προγραμμάτων - κοινωνική αποστολή.
